The party-builder will not add to your “to do” list – rather, it aims
to keep you up to date on our political focus -- the elections – and
provide food for thought with articles on the experience, what works
and what doesn’t, of the Party organization, especially the clubs.

Solidarity Pack
In the 2007 subscription drive—a big success! -- we learned that one of
the best ways to sell subs to the People’s Weekly World was to get
subscriptions from people we work with in the labor and other people’s
movements.
When we’re involved in struggle – as we will be even more than ever in
this exciting election year -- we come into contact withal kinds of
people who want a better world. They’re not Communists, probably not
even left, but they agree with us on a lot of issues. Giving them the
PWW routinely over a few weeks or months oftentimes can result in a new
subscription.
So here’s the plan: we want to encourage everyone to always have an
extra copy of the PWW on hand. The idea is the “solidarity pack:” for
just $45.00 a year, your subscription will get you two copies, one for
you, one for your friend.
If you already have a regular sub, send us the extra $15.00 and we’ll
adjust your account accordingly. E-mail subs@pww.org, and send a check
to:
PWW Solidarity Pack Offer, 235 West 23rd St Fl 8, New York, NY 10011, or call 646-437-5362.
Sustainer Update
As part of the 2008 Communist Party Fund Drive, we aim to increase
those enrolled in our automatic sustainer program by about 50 percent.
In 2007, the program brought in $70,000, so this year we are aiming for
$100,000.
The goal is to sign people up to pay a monthly sustainer, via credit or
debit card. Although we know there are some who don’t want to or can’t
participate, we also know that there are lots of people out there who
are interested in spreading out their contributions over the year and
to do it in the manner most helpful to us.
Sustainer income is divided as follows: 40 percent to the national
Party; 40 percent to the press; 20 percent to the local Party district.
For example, if your district is able to enroll 10 people at $10 a
month, totaling $1200 per year, $480 would go to the Party fund drive,
$480 would go to the PWW fund drive, and $240 would be returned for
local use. Checks are sent out to the districts every quarter.
The 40% of the sustainers that goes towards the Party Fund Drive can be included in your current tally of money in hand.
