Can socialism defeat the pandemic?

 

Vijay Prashad, writing for the Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research, describes Vietnam’s response to the pandemic, noting, “Until now, there have been no deaths from COVID-19 in Vietnam.” Vijay also looks at another successful response to a different pandemic—the Soviet handling of the 1918–19 influenza outbreak.
