CPUSA condemns the attack on the Gaza flotilla

The Communist Party USA International Department condemns the Israeli forces seizure of the Gaza Sumud Flotilla, an act of piracy targeting unarmed international solidarity activists. This attack exposes the brutal lengths to which the Israeli state will go to enforce its illegal blockade and continue its war of annihilation on the Palestinian people. We call for the immediate release of all captured Flotilla activists.

This violence is enabled by the United States government. While millions of people in the U.S. continue to demand peace, our tax dollars fund the bombs, bullets, and warships used to massacre and imprison Palestinians. The U.S.-backed Trump “peace plans” are merely schemes to extend the occupation, not end it, including in the West Bank.

We stand in solidarity with the captured activists, our fraternal parties, and the entire Palestinian people. Their courage contrasts sharply with the cowardice of the Israeli forces. We support the solidarity demonstrations happening all across Europe, including workplace actions in Italy, France, Belgium, and Greece, where workers are taking decisive action to halt the transport of weapons and war materials.

We reiterate our demands for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, an end to the siege of Gaza, the release of all prisoners, and most critically, an immediate halt to all U.S. military aid and diplomatic support for Israel’s genocidal war.
