After weeks of quiet consolidation of their coalition, Labor for Ceasefire, a group of seven big unions, 220 other locals and central labor councils, and two other groups, went public with its mass movement advocating a ceasefire in Palestine.
Top union leaders Shawn Fain of the UAW and Becky Pringle of the National Education Association, which had recently reaffirmed its ceasefire demand, exhorted unionists to organize workers — in and out of their own unions — to demand a ceasefire now. Read more here.

Cuba Denounces US Complicity in Israeli Attacks on Gaza
Echoing statements of Fidel, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said that “a new and repugnant form of fascism is emerging with remarkable force at this moment in history.”
Cuba will soon present arguments against Israel before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), and reaffirms that Israel and its accomplices should be declared responsible for the genocide.

70 cities and counties have now called for a ceasefire
Dane County, Wis.; Durham, N.C.; Toledo, Ohio; St. Petersburg, Fla.; Bolingbrook, Ill.; North Bergen, N.J.; Windsor Conn.; Athens, Ohio; Ferndale, Mich.; Glenwood Springs, Colo.; and Yellow Springs, Ohio are among the most recent cities to issue the call. Nine State and County Democratic Party Committees have also called for a ceasefire, including the Arizona, Hawai’i, New Mexico, Texas, and Washington State Democratic Parties.
National political support
69 members of Congress, including 5 Senators, have called for a ceasefire or cessation of hostilities. Of those, 18 are co-sponsors of Rep. Cori Bush’s resolution. Are your Senators and Reps. signed on? If not, call them today and every day!
