We condemn the killing by an ICE agent of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, award-winning poet and teacher.

Renee was a witness to ICE raids on a migrant community in Minneapolis and was killed by ICE in cold blood on Wednesday January 7, 2026. She was shielding her neighbors from ICE activity when masked agents shot and killed her.

The video taken and widely seen contradicts the false statements from the Trump administration trying to justify Renee’s killing.

Trump called Good a “professional agitator” who “violently, willfully, and viciously” ran over an ICE officer. Like the rest of us, protesters at the ICE raid were outraged by this blatant killing and the attempts by Trump officials to lie to justify the killing.

Jonathan Ross was named by The Minnesota Star Tribune as ICE agent who shot and killed the mom in her car Wednesday.

The publicly viewed video showing the killing demands consequences.

Trump has stated two big lies back-to-back: Maduro is a kingpin of a cartel that doesn’t exist, and that Good tried to kill the ICE agent.. Both lies are intertwined in this reckless and racist hate campaign.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said. “This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying, getting killed.”

Some Democrats have stated: “ICE’s established pattern of violence and brutal use of force is getting worse.” Mass deportation actions are being/have been taken in Democratic majority states.

Mass immigration to the United States is largely caused by imperialism through environmental damage, unfair trade arranNandrea and her husband attended a vigil for Renee Nicole Good. “I am just heartbroken by the ICE murder of Renee Good, who was clearly just trying to stand up for her neighbors,” she said. “The out-of-control state violence that allowed that to happen. I think ICE should be abolished.”

The following context is needed in order to fully understand the hate campaign against immigrants of color and ICE’s conduct:

Mass immigration to the United States is largely caused by imperialism through environmental damage, unfair trade arrangements, sanctions, armed interventions etc.

Trump’s policies, therefore, will likely create more mass migration to the US, not less.

Major capitalist entities profit mightily from this state of affairs. Immigrants mostly come here because they have run out of options in their home countries.

We demand:

Abolish ICE because of its violence, and use by Trump for political purposes. Educators and families demand that that ICE get out of their schools. Fighting to hold ICE and its agents accountable isn’t just the right thing to do at this moment, it’s necessary.

No masked federal agents; respect for elected local leadership.

End the deaths and other violence and the MAGA- driven hate campaign against immigrants of color and their allies.

Call for the indictment of ICE agent Jonathan Ross and other perpetrators for the killing of Good and other atrocities.

Call for the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem, for her part in the lawless killing of Renee Nicole Good.
