Fascism has no place in the struggle for peace

The current political landscape in the United States has become increasingly convoluted and increasingly dangerous. In the wake of the U.S. government’s latest war against Iran, Donald Trump is leading the MAGA movement into an ever-deepening alliance with neoconservatives, evangelical Zionists, and Israeli fascists — all united in their commitment to war and militarism.

This war is not simply the product of ideology or geopolitical rivalry. It is deeply rooted in the political economy of U.S. imperialism. Control over energy markets, strategic trade routes, and regional dominance remains central to U.S. global power. At the same time, the war fuels the profits of major arms manufacturers such as Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Technologies, and Northrop Grumman, whose interests are directly tied to the expansion of military conflict. The revolving door between government and the defense industry ensures that war remains not an exception, but a structural feature of U.S. foreign policy.

The militarism of the Trump regime has exposed a growing split within the broader American far-right. The “America First” faction has broken with Trump over the war, with leading figures such as Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and Marjorie Taylor Greene using their immense platforms to denounce the administration’s militarism and adventurism around the globe.

This development has created confusion within sections of the anti-war movement. Some well-intentioned activists have begun to view these figures as potential allies in the struggle for peace. This is a grave and dangerous error. While these voices may oppose particular military actions abroad, they continue to promote a reactionary program at home, rooted in xenophobia, anti-immigrant agitation, Islamophobia, and, in many cases, antisemitism. These are not the politics of peace, but of division and repression.

In particular, figures such as Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens have repeatedly framed the war on Iran as something carried out at the direction of Israel and under pressure from the American Jewish community as a whole. Their version of events targets the entire Jewish American population as the central driving force behind Israel’s relationship with the U.S. government, completely ignoring the fact that the vast majority of American Jews do not support this war or any other of Washington’s military adventures.

This mistaken narrative is not a serious analysis of imperialism or foreign policy. Rather, it echoes longstanding antisemitic conspiracy theories that attribute hidden, global power to Jews as a collective. Such claims do nothing to advance peace; they instead recycle dangerous myths that have historically been used to divide working people and justify persecution.

When anti-war activists give space to these voices, they legitimize and amplify reactionary and fascistic ideas within the peace movement itself. This not only distorts the political clarity of the movement, but also opens the door to division along racial, ethnic, and religious lines, weakening the unity of the working class at the very moment it is most needed.

For this reason, the Jewish Committee of CPUSA calls on our fellow American Jews committed to peace and justice, to organize independently of Jewish establishment institutions and speak out. No institution has the right to claim to represent all Jews while advancing positions that endanger both the broader public and Jewish communities themselves. When institutions present militarism as being “in the name of the Jewish people,” they not only misrepresent the diversity of Jewish opinion, but also contribute to the very antisemitic narratives that put Jewish communities at risk.

The Jewish Committee of the Communist Party USA calls on all genuine advocates for peace to reject these false allies and to remain vigilant against the infiltration of reactionary politics into anti-war organizing. A real movement for peace must be rooted in international solidarity, anti-racism, and working-class unity.

We call on our fellow American Jews to be vigilant and reject the hijacking of our communities by a donor class aligned with the U.S. ruling class. Raise your voice in opposition to the U.S.’s and Israel’s joint war against Iran! Join the growing peace movement, and help to solidify it on a basis of solidarity and internationalism.

We call on all progressive and democratic forces to defend and strengthen a peace movement that reflects the full diversity and shared interests of the American working class.

Fascism has no place in the struggle for peace. It must be exposed, opposed, and stamped out wherever it appears.
