
This class covers the criminalization of black youth, the school-to-prison pipeline, and the campaigns to counter the narrative of criminalization. Dr. Prince White looks at the racially disparate policing, sentencing, and incarceration rates and the treatment of youth as adults. He invites us to visualize the remote, massive prisons in California and ponder the alternatives to mass incarceration.
