Brooklyn’s CP club: Plans for Trump’s first 100 days

The Brooklyn club is working to establish a rapid response phone tree, better enabling our members and contacts to make their voices heard to local elected officials in the face of the Trump administration program and attacks.

We continue to work with a local Democratic club, a  Brooklyn peace organization, Fight for $15 and the Working Families Party, now with a focus on Trump and the resistance.

We are also working closely with Bernie activists and others in the recently formed New York Progressive Action Network. In the works is a major  legislative initiative addressing New York’s shameful, undemocratic election laws.

The Brooklyn club of the Communist Party was recently invited to speak at a widely attended community meeting about our organizing  against Trump, our political perspectives, and the need for unity.

One of our central platforms has become the NY edition of the Peoples World, which we have begun regularly distributing at Trump cabinet nomination protests, subway stops and community  meetings.

Consistent with our club’s longstanding commitment to a concentration in central Brooklyn, we are planning to resume our distribution of the NY edition of the Peoples World, (plus International Publishers books like the soon to be reissued “We Charge Genocide”), with special coverage of the fight against Trump, at Medgar Evers College.

Our club is actively mobilizing for  the January 21 Women’s Rally – both  in DC and in NYC. Many of us are looking  forward to participate in the CPUSA contingent, or the contingents of the various mass organizations we work with.
