North Carolina party members celebrate Durham ceasefire resolution

Members of the party in North Carolina have been heavily involved in efforts with the Southern Workers Assembly to get the Durham City Council to pass a ceasefire resolution.

Earlier this week, a big victory was won when the countil voted 5–2 in favor of the call. The majority was big enough to pass despite Mayor Leonardo Williams and Mayor Pro Tempore Mark-Anthony Middleton voting against the resolution. Durham is now the second city in the state to call for a ceasefire.

North Carolina CPUSA members are active in various cities around the state, including Raleigh, Greensboro, and in Carrboro, which also passed a ceasefire resolution in November.
