Viet Nam sends delegation to US communist party’s national convention Published: July 6, 2005 Ha Noi, July 6 (VNA) – A delegation of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) led by Vu Quoc Hung, member of the Party Central Committee and Vice Chairman of its Inspection Commission, attended the 28th National Convention of the Communist Party, USA (CPUSA) in Chicago, the US, from July 1-3. Nearly 500 representatives, including foreign guests, attended the event. The Vietnamese delegation was later received by Sam Webb, who had been re-elected CPUSA Chairman, and other CPUSA leaders. Hung congratulated and presented a message of greetings from the CPV Central Committee to the Convention. The hosts expressed their admiration to and high appreciation of the significant achievements made by the Vietnamese Party and people in their past struggle for national independence and their current renovation process. The Vietnamese delegation also met and exchanged views with delegations from other countries at the convention.
