We are not yet living under fascism, but it is closer than it has ever been — no longer a whiff of white supremacist violence and state terrorism, but a constant reek. Trump dispatches secret police against protestors, undermines the elections, threatens schools that adopt anti-racist curricula, and calls for violence against those who criticize him. This march to fascism has one, and only one, purpose: to remove any democratic constraints on the power of the capital, allowing big corporations to make us pay for the economic, political, and environmental crises they have caused.

The lesson of history is clear: the time to stop fascism is now, before it takes power. November 3 is our best chance to stop the Trump-GOP regime in its tracks with an overwhelming defeat at the polls. The verdict must be clear: we, the working class and people of this country, will not allow one more step toward fascism.

In memory of the U.S. Lincoln Brigade and other brigades from around the world who traveled to Spain to fight Franco’s fascist army there;

In memory of the tens of millions of Allied soldiers and Resistance partisans — many of them Communists — who paid with their blood to defeat the Axis war machine and open a path to a democratic future;

In memory of the civilians starved and enslaved and slaughtered and displaced and irradiated in the chaos of a war brought on by fascism:

Stop fascism before it starts. Vote!

In solidarity with the African American people, who in four centuries of struggle for freedom and equality have not seen one election year where their votes have been solicited and counted on par with white votes;

In solidarity with women, who struggled for a century to win the right to vote and now, a century later, still have to struggle against harassment and sexist double standards and for equal representation in government and the workplace;

In solidarity with LGBTQ persons who only in recent years are beginning to be seen as equal persons under the law;

In solidarity with the struggle of the working class for workplace democracy and the right to organize and bargain collectively over pay and conditions;

In solidarity with non-citizens, incarcerated people, youth, and all who are denied that most basic democratic liberty, the right to vote:

Protecting democracy today is part of expanding it tomorrow. Vote!

To beat back the fascist threat and smash the power of the neo-Confederate forces that dominate the Republican Party;

To win relief for the unemployed, funding for state and local governments, and a solution to this crisis that addresses the suffering of working people;

To save Black lives from mass incarceration, voter suppression, and violence and create true economic and political equality;

To make the working class and its allies the leading force in the struggle for democracy;

To ensure a healthy and thriving environment for humanity and the animal world for generations to come; and

To open the road to a just, peaceful, sustainable, socialist USA:

We will march from the streets to the polls, and back. Organize, mobilize, and vote!
