WHEREAS

these critical times demand a large, vibrant Communist Party at every level that strengthens the broad front against the extreme right-wing, organizes for workers’ needs and expands workers’ vision. Many new possibilities are present to create and sustain such a mass-style Communist Party base; and

WHEREAS

there is a dialectical inter-relationship between wide outreach via social media for education and information sharing, and consolidating that outreach with consistent, day-to-day organizing at the local level, therefore requiring integration of all methods; and

WHEREAS

the possibilities for organizing Communist Party clubs based in specific communities, election districts, geographic areas, are expanded by new technology and social media, giving grassroots in-person local club building  in new and existing areas added importance for building a lasting movement; and

WHEREAS

new members who joined on-line in scattered locations where no Communist Party organization has existed for some time are searching for how to participate in their communities in a collective way, while respect and collaboration is growing among allies in areas where the Communist Party is present; and

WHEREAS

these conditions open new possibilities to build mass-style grass roots Communist Party clubs that can become a home to fast food, low-wage, unemployed and young workers, make a difference in their own locality and create a multi-racial electoral base to defeat the extreme right-wing and develop a higher level of struggle for workers rights and needs; and

WHEREAS

the People’s World / Mundo Popular is central to organizing a mass-style grassroots Communist Party on-line with information and education sharing and relating with labor and people’s organizations nationally; and off-line with printouts as a tool for relationship building door-to-door, public presence and open discussion about joining our Party and building a local base for workers’ needs and vision;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED

that the 30th National Convention of the Communist Party USA prioritizes the utilization of all tools and methods to root our organization among low-wage and middle income workers in multi-racial urban and rural communities; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED

that priority be placed on continual exchange of varied experiences and lessons integrating on-line and off-line organizing and use of People’s World / Mundo Popular with the goal of enhancing the development of grassroots, in-person local club building based in neighborhoods, geographical areas and workplaces in existing and new areas of the country.
