Dear comrades and friends of CPUSA,
The Communist Party of Israel, Arabs and Jews alike, salutes you on your 30th National Convention. As a party that has always led the struggle against Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and fought for social justice, democracy and socialism within the state of Israel proper – we feel a special affinity and admiration for your own leading role in the struggle against racism and imperialism, for women liberation and gender equality, LGBT rights, and workers’ interests. We especially endorse your endeavour to transcend the present “Tocquevillian democracy” (i.e., bourgeois dictatorship) into a true popular democracy in America for the benefit of all.
The CPI considers the PCE as an important ally in the struggle against the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and for the achievement of a just and lasting peace between Israel and its neighbors. Such a peace will be based on establishing an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, in the June 4th 1967 Green Line Border, with East Jerusalem as its capital; dismantling all the Israeli settlements and the Separation Wall; release of all Palestinian prisoners held inside Israeli jails; solving of the problem of Palestinian refugees according to UN resolutions; complete Israeli withdrawal from the Arab-Syrian occupied Golan heights; complete Israeli withdrawal from the Lebanese occupied Shebaa farms; and achieving a Middle East free from nuclear weapons and other WMDs, based on the International NPT.
We would also like to take this opportunity and congratulate comrade John Bachtell on his election as the new Chairman of the National Committee of the CPUSA. We are sure that comrade Bachtell will pursue the great legacy of comrades Gus Hall and Sam Webb, and be leading your struggle for socialism, democracy and justice. On this occasion, we also would like to send our warmest greetings to comrade Sam Webb, to express our appreciation for his enduring contribution for socialism and to wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
