Proposed Resolution: U.S. Policy in Asia

BY: CPUSA International Department| June 11, 2014

Submitted by International Department, CPUSA

current U.S. foreign policy includes a “pivot to the East” which represents a danger to peace and stability in the East Asia region, and

this involves closer alliances with right wing governments in the region, including that of Prime Minister Abe of Japan, and

the United States retains numerous military bases in the Asia Pacific area, especially in Japan, which are objectionable to local populations and are provocative in their effect, and

these policies are not helpful in the resolution of existing international disputes in the region,

that the 30th National Convention of the Communist Party USA calls for the resolution of all international disputes in the Asia-Pacific area by means of peaceful dialogue aimed at improving the living standards of all the nations in the area, and

that the 30th National Convention of the Communist Party USA calls for the United States to cease and desist from military saber rattling and pressure tactics that do nothing to resolve the problems of the Asia-Pacific region, and

that the 30th National Convention of the CPUSA calls for the U.S. administration to close all U.S. military bases in Japan, South Korea and the rest of the Asia-Pacific area, and

FINALLY, be it resolved

that party clubs, districts and members actively strive to implement this resolution.
