The Gestapo-like tactics of ICE, along with the deployment of National Guard and the U.S. military in LA, have raised the danger of fascism to a new level. Clearly the goal is to set the stage for declaring martial law. In this situation, the need for militant non-violent protest has never been greater.
Building the unity of the anti-MAGA coalition and its breadth as well is imperative. Here the involvement of the trade union movement and the broader working class is key. In this regard, rich lessons can be drawn from the Civil Rights movement and its defeat of Jim Crow.
