The Claudia Jones School for Political Education invites you to their next event, The People’s Tribunal: Debt in D.C., featuring organizers from the DC Debt Collective and the DC Poor People’s Campaign.

At the end of 2019, DC residents were experiencing more household debt per capita than all 50 states. An ongoing global health crisis is highlighting and intensifying the unnecessary debt burdens we carry.

Join the DC Chapter of the Debt Collective and the Poor People’s Campaign DC for a tribunal on our student, medical, housing, and legal debts. The Claudia Jones School is hosting a listening session to share your experiences with going into debt paying for necessities that could and should be public goods. The discussion will focus on what debt looks like for DC residents right now and how debtors are organizing to challenge their moral obligations to pay unjust debts.
