Dear Comrades,

On behalf of the National Council of the Communist Party of India we extend our warm fraternal greetings to the leadership and delegates participating in the 30th Convention of the Communist Party of USA.

Your Congress is taking place in the background of the deep economic crisis and global recession, growing proximity among US, NATO and EU on all global issues, their intensified measures designed to impose their will on the people of other nations already destabilising the countries like Iraq, Libya, Syria and Afghanistan and  giving a new fillip to the forces of fundamentalism and terrorism almost all part of the world in particular in Middle-East, South Asia and some part of Central Asia jeopardising the peace and stability throughout the world.

We are well aware of the role of the Communist Party of USA in struggle for peace, democracy and for the rights of the working people world over. We have gone through the discussion papers for the convention and we are very much convinced that the final results of these discussions will create much of interest among the fraternal parties world over.

In India a new rightwing government has come to power. Unfortunately the strength of Left in new Parliament became less and we are discussing the election results at all levels to find out the reasons behind such debacles. This is also one of the reason that we could nod send any representative to attend your convention.

We believe that the deliberations and the experience of your Convention will help us further in understanding each other, and initiating a common struggle for achieving Peace Progress and Socialism.
